The number 61 was put to rest for Albany High School Wednesday night at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys. Albany won its first Texas high school football title in 61 years with a 41-21 win over Mart in the Class 2A Division II title game. The last football state title was in ’61.
Coy Lefevre scored three touchdowns in the victory that denied Mart its ninth Texas high school football title.
