The Blue Bell/Texas Sports Writers Association’s 2022 Class 6A all-state high school football team is led by Denton Guyer quarterback Jackson Arnold and Duncanville EDGE rusher Colin Simmons. Arnold, who is already enrolled at Oklahoma, is the 6A Offensive Player of the Year. Simmons, a top Class of 2024 recruit, is the Defensive Player of the Year.

Arnold, who was the Gatorade National Football Player of the Year threw for 3,476 yards with 33 touchdowns and only three interceptions. He also ran for 921 yards and 24 scores.

Denton Guyer lost in the Class 6A Division II semifinals and finished No. 24 in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football.

Simmons, who has 45 college football scholarship offers, according to 247Sports, had 33 tackles for losses, 22 .5 of them sacks in leading the Panthers the Division I state title. He had 45 quarterbacks pressures.

Duncanville head coach Reginald Samples is the Coach of the Year. Duncanville finished No. 6 in the HSFA 300.
