Coaches and student-athletes from Bay View, Marshall and Roncalli high schools got a thrill Monday when they toured Lambeau Field, home of the Green Bay Packers, and then met running back AJ Dillon, who surprised the teams with $6,000 worth of new helmets.

The helmets are part of the Packers Helmet Give Back Program, which benefits teams from around the state.

In addition to the three aforementioned teams, seven other teams (below) will be getting helmet donations from the Packers:

  • Berlin High School
  • Brodhead High School
  • Glenwood City High School
  • Kenosha St. Joseph Catholic Academy
  • La Crosse Central High School
  • Milwaukee Academy of Science
  • Racine Park High School.

Last fall, the Packers invited coaches and athletic directors from around the state to apply to receive new helmets. The gift is part of a donation match by Xenith as part of their Community Give Back Program and their Buy a Helmet Give a Helmet Program.

The donations also are made possible through the support of American Family Insurance and their efforts to provide high school athletes with the equipment and support they need to pursue their dreams. The helmet donation program is part of the Packers’ football outreach efforts, which promote and serve youth and high school football programs around Wisconsin.
