For the second straight year, Michigan high school football has the bragging rights over Ohio…at least when it comes to the Border Classic all-star game played between the two. Michigan beat Ohio 24-7 on Saturday in the Border Classic played at Wayne State University.

Brandon Childress, who’s headed to Central Michigan, was Michigan’s offensive MVP. The former Baldwin High School quarterback rushed for two touchdowns in the game.  Ohio’s offensive MVP was quarterback Steven Ficyk, a Brunswick High grad, who will play college football at Hillsdale College.

Ohio’s MVP went to Brody Hoying, cousin of former NFL QB Bobby Hoying.  Hoying, a Coldwater grad, will play at Eastern Michigan.  Michigan’s defensive MVP was Mike Ojemudia of Harrison High School. Ojemudia will attend Iowa.

Michigan also won last year’s inaugural game 27-14.
