Big 33 Classic misused hundreds of thousand of dollars

The Big 33 Classic, a Pennsylvania all-star football game that many considered the best in America, is working to fix problems found during an investigation by the Pennsylvania State Attorney General into the misuse of funds by a previous administration of the non-profit organization.

According to ABC27, the investigation revealed that the Big 33 used $268,810, which was supposed to go to scholarships, to pay lines of credit and other accounts.

The story goes on to say that the Big 33 hasn’t admitted guilt, but will pay the State Attorney General’s office $15,000 for the cost of the investigation, plus put an additional $5,000 per year in the organization’s scholarship endowment fund until the $268,810 is repaid.

The announcement of the misuse of funds comes a few days before the 58th annual Big 33 Classic that will be played between Pennsylvania All-Stars and Maryland All-Stars at Hershey Park Stadium in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

The Big 33 has gained national prominence because every Super Bowl ever played has featured at least one Big 33 game alum.
