After taking down Duncanville in a battle of reigning state champs, DeSoto is No. 1 in the latest High School Football America Texas Top 25 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. The 49-35 victory was the first time since 2017 that the Eagles beat the Panthers. It snapped Duncanville’s 22-game win streak and moves DeSoto’s win streak to 15 straight.

The win keeps DeSoto in the national championship conversation. The Eagles currently sit at No. 10 in the nation.

North Shore moves from No. 3 to No. 2 after beating No. 5 Atascocita 61-35. The win gives the Mustangs the District 21-6A championship.

Byron Nelson soars 13 spots to No. 10 this week. The Bobcats make the big move after their first-ever win over former No. 6 Southlake Carroll for District 4-6A title.

This week, the District 5-6A title will be on the line when No 16 Prosper travels to No. 22 McKinney. If Prosper wins, they’ll win the championship. A McKinney win means the two will share the title.
