There are only a few minor changes in the latest High School Football America Georgia Top 25 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. However, the week ahead has a lot of head-to-head matchups between the 32 Georgia teams in the HSFA 300 national rankings .
Five of the eight second round 7A playoff games are HSFA 300 head-to-head games.
- No. 170 Valdosta at No. 40 Carrollton
- No. 285 North Gwinnett at No. 18 Walton
- No. 284 Peachtree Ridge at No. 8 Mill Creek
- No. 10 Buford at No. 215 Norcross
- No. 151 Westlake at No. 11 Colquitt County
While all of the above games are big, the 6A matchup between defending state champ Langston Hughes and Rome will get a lot of attention. Hughes is No. 9 in the statewide rankings and No. 93 nationally. Rome is No. 10 in Georgia and No. 97 in America.

In 5A, there will be a rematch between the two schools that battled in the ’22 state championship. Reigning champ Ware County is ranked No. 227 in the HSFA 300. Warner Robbins comes into the contest at No. 241.
Ware County won last year’s championship with a 38-13 win, snapping the Demons’ run of two straight state titles. Warner Robins is trying to make it to the state title game for a seventh straight year.
No. 7 Rabun Gap-Nacoochee will be playing for a state championship this weekend. The Eagles will face Providence Day for the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association’s Class AAA title. Both teams are ranked nationally – Rabun Gap-Nacoochee is No. 61, Providence Day in No. 82.
