It’s championship time in Pennsylvania with twelve high school football teams heading to Cumberland Valley High School this weekend looking for gold.

One team not heading to championship weekend is Bishop McDevitt, the 2022 4A state champ. The Crusaders were shocked in double overtime last weekend by unranked Dallas 26-23.

The loss drops McDevitt from No. 3 to No. 9 in the latest High School Football America Pennsylvania Top 25 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. The upset also dropped the Crusaders completely out of the HSFA 300 national rankings. They entered the state semifinals No. 87 in America.

This week, Dallas (15-0), which remains unranked in the latest rankings, created with our proprietary algorithm, plays No. 20 Aliquippa (13-0) for the 4A championship.

No. 1 St. Joseph’s Prep (12-1) is playing in its eighth straight 6A championship game. The Hawks, who are ranked No. 7 nationally by HSFA, will play No. 4 North Allegheny (13-1).

No. 2 Imhotep Charter (14-0), No. 72 nationally, plays No. 15 Peters Township (15-0) in the 5A championship game.

Below are the other championship matchups:

3A – Northwestern Lehigh (15-0) vs. No. 22 Belle Vernon (12-1)

2A – Southern Columbia (14-1) vs. Westinghouse (13-0)

1A – Steelton-Highspire (15-0) vs. Fort Cherry (15-0)
