Jones (Orlando) edges its way to the top of the High School Football America Florida Top 25 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. The Fightin’ Tigers beat Edgewater 28-24 to advance to a 3M regional championship and climb a notch to No. 8 in the latest rankings. The win also avenged Jones’ 31-14 regular season loss to Edgewater.

Next up for Jones is unranked Tampa Bay Tech. While outside the Floirda Top 25, TBT is ranked in the HSFA 300 national rankings at No. 135.

No. 7 Miami Central continues its drive for a state-record fifth straight state title. The Rockets beat former No. 19 Booker T. Washington (Miami) 35-12, dropping the Tornadoes to No. 21 this week.

MC moves into a 2M regional championship to face No. 6 Norland this week. On October 13, Norland beat the Rockets 29-26 in overtime.

For the second time in less than a month, No. 15 Treasure Coast beat No. 20 Vero Beach in 4S. Next up for TC is DeLand in a 4S regional championship.

Aside from the Miami Central/Norland regional championship, there are three other Top 25 head-to-head matchups this week.

  • Class 4M Region 4 – No. 12 Columbus (Miami) vs. No. 19 Western (Davie)
  • Class 3M Region 3 – No. 3 St. Thomas Aquinas vs. No. 18 Coconut Creek
