Coffee’s reward for winning its first-ever Georgia high school football state championship is being placed in the same region as another 2023 state champ. When the Georgia High School Association announced its realignment for 2024 and 2025 in November, the Trojans learned they are now part of Class 5A’s Region 2, which also includes last year’s 6A champ Thomas County Central.
In addition to TCC, also includes Houston County, Lee County, Northside (Warner Robins) and Veterans. Only Veterans didn’t spend time last year in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. Coffee finished No. 89 in the nation last season.
Aside from its five region games, Coffee has five tough non-league games. After its opener against Bainbridge on August 16, the Trojans will host 2022 5A Georgia champ Ware County on August 23. After that, the Trojans will play five straight opponents from Florida at home — Lake City’s Columbia (August 30), Gadsden County (September 13) and defending 3S state champ Mainland (September 20).
