When you tune-in for Rounds 4 through 7 of the 2024 NFL Draft today, keep your eyes open for a man, who has dedicated his life to the game of football. Roman Oben, the National Football League‘s Vice President of Football Development, will be announcing the selections for Rounds 5 and 6 from Detroit, Michigan.
Just like Roger Goodell in Round 1, Oben will be letting the next generation of NFL players know where their professional journey will begin. He’s no stranger to the NFL Draft, since he was picked No. 66 overall in 1996 by the New York Giants.

Oben went on to play a dozen years in the NFL, winning a Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His career ended in 2007 after four-years with the San Diego Chargers.
During his time in Southern California, Oben returned from a devastating foot injury that would have ended any normal player’s career. His incredible comeback and inspirational story was documented by NFL Films (below).
For the last 5 years, High School Football America has been working directly with Oben and the fine people at NFL Play Football to promote our great game.
This morning, three hours before taking the stage in Detroit, Oben joined the High School Football America Podcast to discuss all things NFL Draft.
