For the second time in the last four months, Tuscaloosa County High School is back in the market for a head coach. Brian Niedermeyer, who was named the program’s new head coach in December, has announced he’s resigned to become the Denver Broncos defensive quality control coach.
Last season, Niedermeyer was TC’s defensive coordinator during a 1-9 season. His hiring in December marked the first head coaching job of his career.
Niedermeyer’s coaching resume includes assistant coaching stops at Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Miami, East Texas Baptist, and Georgia before coming to Alabama as a graduate assistant for the Crimson Tide 2016. He served as the Tide’s assistant director of recruiting operations in 2017.
He joined the Tennessee Volunteers in 2018, following Jeremy Pruitt, who had transitioned from Alabama’s defensive coordinator to head coach of the Volunteers.
Earlier in his career the Eagle River, Alaska native served as an assistant at premier Florida high school programs St. Thomas Aquinas and IMG Academy.
