Holy Spirit Catholic High School in Tuscaloosa, Alabama will not play varsity high school football for the next three years, according to WVUA-TV.

School officials announced Friday that the Class 1A school won’t field a team due to low numbers, which means, according to Alabama High School Athletic Association rules, the Saints won’t be able to play varsity football for three years.

Last year, Holy Spirit finished 6-4 and missed the Alabama high school football playoffs.
