The Thompson Warriors, fresh off their fifth Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) Class 7A state championship in the last six years, have released their 2025 regular season football schedule. Once again, the season-ending gold medal placed the Warriors highly-ranked in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football.
Thompson finished No. 39 in the nation. It also marked the eighth straight season that the Warriors have ended the season nationally-ranked by HSFA. The team has also finished No. 1 in the HSFA Alabama Top 10 five of the last six seasons.
The team’s 10-game regular season includes a Week 2 showdown against Grayson, Georgia’s reigning Class 6A champions. Last year, the Rams beat Thompson 15-14 in overtime.
All three of Thompson’s loses last year were by one-point in overtime. The Warriors will also get a chance to avenge last season’s 14-13 loss to Clay-Chalkville when they play the Cougars on the road on September 26. The other overtime loss by a point in ’24 came against Region 3 foe Hoover. They’ll square-off in Hoover on October 17.

Last season, Region 3 was the 17th toughest in America, according to HSFA’s proprietary algorithm. Aside from Thompson’s No. 39 national ranking, Hoover was ranked No. 123 and Hewitt-Trussville was No. 240.
Look for another strong showing out of Thompson in 2025 with the return of junior-to-be quarterback Trent Seaborn, who has been starting since 8th grade. Seaborn, who has 32 college scholarship offers, will be a HSFA Academic All-American when our 2024 team is released on April 28. He been an AAA during all three years of his varsity career.
Seaborn enters 2025 having completed over 68-percent of his passes (510-of-748) for 6,453 yards with 68 touchdowns against just 16 interceptions.
