Defending 7A champ Central (Phenix City) is up one notch in the latest High School Football America Alabama Top 10 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. The Red Devils sit at No. 4 after beating Hoover 17-7 to advance to the December 4 Super 7 Class 7A championship game against No. 2 Thompson.

Last year, Central won the 7A title with a 21-19 win over Thompson, which snapped the Warriors run of four straight state titles.

Saraland remains a solid No. 1 after handing No. 8 Spain Park its first loss (45-19) of the year. The Spartans can advance to their third straight 6A title if they beat Pike Road this week.

In the other 6A semifinal, No. 6 Parker will square-off with No. 9 Oxford.
