Two new high school football teams joined the 800 all-time high school football wins club in 2018 and several more are in striking distance to join the exclusive club this year.

Both high schools that won their 800th last year are from Oklahoma — Lawton and Clinton. That brought the total number of teams to sixteen that have won 800 or more games.

Valdosta (Georgia) still leads the way with 919 victories, but three Kentucky teams — Highlands, Male and Mayfield — are within striking distance of entering the 900 win club in 2019.

On the brink of joining the 800 win club in 2019 are: Pine Bluff (Arkansas) with 798 wins, followed by Brockton (Massachusetts) with 797, Sioux Falls Washington (South Dakota) with 795, Bakersfield (California) with 793, Little Rock Central (Arkansas) with 787 and Danville (Kentucky) and Dobyns-Bennett (Tennessee) with 786 victories apiece.

The victory total are based on the National Federation of High School State Association‘s record book. Now, it should be noted that there’s another source out there — Football Friday Night that has a different set of numbers in many cases.

For example, FFN has Valdosta with 926 victories. It also has 22 teams in the 800-or-more wins club. From my hometown of Easton, Pennsylvania, the NFHS has the Red Rovers with 831 wins, while FFN has them with 845 victories, which is the number that Easton school officials believe is accurate one.

We’re also checking on Highland Park in Texas. According to TexasHighSchoolFootballHistory.com, the Scots own 826 victories. They aren’t on either list.

You can see the Football Friday Night list below the NFHS list.
