After nearly four decades of coaching high school football, Allen (Texas) head coach Terry Gambill is hanging-up the whistle.
Gambill announced Tuesday that he was retiring after five years as Allen’s head coach. During those five years, Gambill amassed a record of 65-4, winning the 6A Division I Texas state championship.
This past season, Allen finished 10-1, losing to Euless Trinity in the regional semifinals 49-45, which resulted in a No. 28 ranking in the High School Football America 100 national rankings powered by BlackMP Living Water.
Gambill, who served as the head coach at Waco Midway before becoming the Eagles’ head coach in 2016, owns a lifetime record of 132-17. Prior to Midway, Gambill spent nine years as an Allen assistant.
