Apopka pops to No. 12 in latest Florida Top 25 high school football rankings

Apopka is the biggest mover in the latest High School Football America Florida Top 25, powered by NFL Play Football. The Blue Darters are up five spots to No. 12 after knocking-off defending 8A champ Seminole (Sanford) 28-27 to advance to the state semifinals.

Up next for Apopka is No. 9 Treasure Coast. The loss dropped Seminole to seven spots to No. 14.

In the other 8A state semi, No. 6 Venice will take-on No. 16 Miami Columbus.

The 7A semis also feature two head-to-head Top 25 matchups. Two-time defending state champ St. Thomas Aquinas, No. 2 in the state, will play No. 13 Buchholz, while No. 19 Lake Gibson faces No. 24 Tampa Bay Tech.

In 6A, top-ranked Jesuit will play No. 10 Miami Northwestern. That winner gets the winner of No. 11 Orlando Jones and Pine Forest.

Another Top 25 head-to-head will be in 4A where No. 7 Cocoa plays No. 17 Bolles.
