Arch-rivals Bergen Catholic and Don Bosco Prep to battle for top spot in New Jersey Top 25 and the Non-Public A title

It’s time for all of the traditional Thanksgiving high school football games this week. When it comes to tradition, the Bergen Catholic/Don Bosco Prep rivalry ranks up there with one of the best in the state.

In two weeks, the North Jersey rivals will battle for the Non-Public A title. Aside from the championship, the No. 1 spot in the High School Football America New Jersey Top 25 will also be on the line.

On September 24, BC beat DBP 17-0 in the 75th meeting between the two. Don Bosco leads the all-time series 40-33-2.

As far as the latest rankings, powered by NFL Play Football, East Orange is the biggest mover this week. The Jaguars move-up seven spots to No. 17.

East Orange won the Group 5, Section 1 title by beating Passaic Tech. Next up, the Jags will play their traditional Thanksgiving Day game against Barringer. In two weeks, they’ll play No. 21 Clifton for the Group 5 North Regional championship.

Red Bank Catholic is also a big mover this week. The Caseys are up five spots to No. 8. In two weeks, they’ll play No. 3 DePaul Catholic for the Non-Public B title.

New to the rankings this week is Irvington. The Blue Knights breaking into the Top 25 at No. 22.

Last week, Irvington beat Middletown South for Group 4, North Section 1 title. In two weeks, the Blue Knights will play No. 11 Northern Highlands for the Group 4 North Regional title.
