Arkansas moving forward to play a normal high school football season

After lots of doubt, it looks like the 2020 high school football season in Arkansas will look normal to players, coaches and the fans.

On Friday, Governor Asa Hutchinson announced that high school football will be played in the Fall. Hutchinson said the Arkansas Activities Association, the state’s governing body, will need submit a plan to the Arkansas Department of Health on what the season during the coronavirus pandemic will look like.

“My message to the football players is grab your helmet and get ready for practice Monday,” said Hutchinson. “Then after practice grab your mask and help protect others. They need to set the example.”

According to Hutchinson from starting Monday through August 7, teams can conduct drills wearing only helmets. The regular season is set to beginning August 27.
