Associated Press Texas High School Football Preseason Polls

Allen, ranked No. 3 in the High School Football America Preseason Top 100, starts the season as the No. 1 team in Class 6A in the Associated Press Texas preseason rankings. The Eagles, who haven’t lost a regular season game since 2012, are followed by Katy at No. 2, DeSoto at No. 3, Judson at No. 4 and Cibolo Steele at No. 5.

DeSoto is ranked No. 6 in our national rankings, while Katy is ranked No. 19 the Top 100. In all, 16 Texas teams are in our preseason Top 100.

Judson is the only 6A team that isn’t in our preseason rankings.

In 5A, Manvel, ranked No. 67 in our poll that is created with our proprietary algorithm, is the top team, followed by defending state champ Aledo at No. 2.  The Bearcats, who won their seventh overall state title in 2016, is ranked No. 2 in our Top 100.
