Back-to-back for Gunter Tigers in Texas Class 3A Division II

The Gunter Tigers will go into 2024 as the two-time reigning Texas high school football champs. Thursday, the Tigers beat Tidehaven 30-14 for the school’s second straight Class 3A Division II high school football championship at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys.

Quarterback Walker Overman was the offensive star of the game. He was named Offensive MVP after throwing for 149 yards and a touchdown to go along with 172 yards on the ground with a TD.

Overall, Gunter has won four state titles since 2016.
