Badin High School Football Coach Nick Yordy is the Bengals’ nominee for the Don Shula NFL High School Coach of the Year Award, representing the best at the high school level. 

Yordy was nominated for his character, integrity, leadership, dedication to the community, commitment to player health and safety and on-field success. 

“It is truly an honor to be nominated for this award and represent the NFL and Bengals organization,” said Yordy. ”I am happy for our team, school and the Badin community and the recognition they’ll receive from this nomination. I am proud to be part of Badin High School.” 

All Don Shula Award nominees are invited to attend the 2022 Pro Bowl in Las Vegas and will be recognized in special ways during the NFL’s celebration of football. Throughout the week, coaches will receive VIP access and accommodations at various events such as Pro Bowl practices and a chance to interact and engage with various members of the football community as well as attend the Pro Bowl.  

Two finalists will each receive $15,000 from the NFL Foundation, $10,000 of which will go to their high school’s football program. Those finalists will also attend Super Bowl LIV in Los Angeles as special guests of the NFL. 

The Don Shula Award winner will be announced during the 2022 Pro Bowl, airing Sunday, Feb. 6 at 3 p.m. on ESPN and ESPN Deportes, and simulcast on ABC and Disney XD. The winner will also be recognized and walk the red carpet at NFL Honors, a two-hour primetime awards special to air nationally on Thursday, Feb. 10 on ABC. 

Additionally, Yordy was selected as the Cincinnati Bengals High School Football Coach of the Year, capping off the team’s annual Coach of the Week program. Badin High School will receive a $2,000 donation to the school’s football program. 

The Cincinnati Bengals Coach of the Week program awards outstanding high school coaches for their hard work and dedication, as well as their success on the field and in the community. Currently in its 20th year, the Cincinnati Bengals High School Coach of the Week program has awarded over $240,000 to high school football programs throughout the Tri-State. 

This season’s program awarded $12,000 to aid in the development and promotion of high school football across the Tri-State, thanks to contributions from the Cincinnati Bengals and the NFL foundation.
