Bettye Davis East sits atop the statewide rankings with two weeks to go in the regular season. The Thunderbirds beat former No. 2 West 35-21 on Friday to solidify the top spot in the rankings created with our proprietary algorithm.
Juneau-Douglas/Thunder Mountain is up a spot to No. 2 after West slipped a spot to No. 3.
The tale of the tape at the top looks like this: BDE has beaten West (35-21) and lost to JDTM (39-28); JDTM beat East, but lost to West (49-23); and West has split with the top two teams.
