Bettye Davis East wins Alaska Division I state football championship

Bettye Davis East avenged its only regular season loss on the way to winning the 2021 Alaska Division I high school football state championship. The Thunderbirds, ranked No. 1 in the High School Football America Alaska Top 5, beat No. 2 Juneau-Douglas/Thunder Mountain 30-17 for the state title at Service High School.

The title is the fourth in the last six years for the Thunderbirds. On September 4, JDTM beat East 39-28.
