Bishop Gorman (NV) gets sixth straight shutout

Eight-time Nevada state champ Bishop Gorman (8-2) heads into the 2017 playoffs with a defense that has shutout six straight opponents.  The Gaels closed-out the regular season Thursday night with a 43-0 shutout of Sierra Vista, which gave Gorman the Southwest League championship.

Gorman, ranked No. 13 in the High School Football America Top 100 national rankings, hasn’t allowed a touchdown since the first quarter of its game back on September 16 against De La Salle. The Gaels have now gone 27 straight quarters without allowing a point.

The Gaels, who will open the Division I playoffs next week against Palo Verde, outscored its Nevada opponents 339-0 in six games.
