Bishop McDevitt beats Aliquippa for Pennsylvania 4A high school football state championship

For the first time in 27-years, Harrisburg’s Bishop McDevitt (13-1) is a Pennsylvania high school football state champ. Thursday night, the Crusaders beat Aliquippa 41-18 in a rematch of the 2021 Class 4A championship game won by the Quips.

McDevitt sophmore quarterback Stone Saunders completed 10-of-16 passes for 167 yards with five touchdowns.

The loss snapped Aliquippa’s 24-game win streak that was the longest active in the state. The Quips finish 13-1.
