Bowdon is now a two-time defending Georgia high school football champ after beating Manchester 28-27 Monday night at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, home of the Atlanta Falcons. The A Division II championship game was decided on an extra-point in the fourth quarter.

Manchester closed to 28-27 with 7:23 to go in the game. A penalty on the extra-point pushed the Blue Devils back to the 35-yard line for the point after. Manchester faked the kick and its two-point conversion pass attempt failed.

Bowdon was able to seal the victory with a drive that ran out the final 7:23.

The victory avenged Bowdon’s one-point loss in the season opener between the two schools. The Red Devils close on a 13-game win streak after an 0-2 start in 2023.
