Brentwood Academy ranked #46 in National Rankings

Brentwood Academy is ranked #46 in the nation in High School Football America’s Preseason National Top 50.  The Eagles, who are the state’s reigning Division II-AA state champs, begin the season in our The Other 25, which are teams ranked #26 through #50.

Last year, Brentwood Academy finished #37 last season after beating Montgomery Bell Academy 56-55 in a two overtime championship game thriller.

The biggest challenge facing the Eagles is rebuilding a very good offensive line that returns only one starter from a year ago.  Senior quarterback Jeremiah Oatsvall is back to lead the offense.  He threw for over 1,900 yards last year and ran for over 1,100.  Oatsvall has a hand in 30 TDs.

Brentwood Academy has a top-notch schedule that features three out-of-state opponents — Olive Branch from Mississippi, Kentucky’s Trinity, the #35 in our preseason rankings and A+ Academy from Texas, plus

For those of you unfamiliar with our rankings, this is the fourth straight year that High School Football America will be using its proprietary algorithm to rank teams nationally, regionally and locally.  What that means is, our computer does all the work, there’s no opinion involved.  Over the past three seasons, our preseason poll included some opinion, but this year marks the first time that our algorithm is completely in-charge of determining our “mythical” national champ from start to finish.
