At 408 wins and counting, Calallen‘s Phil Danaher will be inducted into the Texas High School Coaches Association‘s Hall of Fame in July.

Danaher, who’s second on the state’s all-time football wins list, has led the Wildcats to the playoffs for 30 straight years. The only year that Calallen didn’t make the postseason under Danaher was during his first year when the school went 5-4-1.

Bruce Bush, who spent 34 years as a head coach at eight schools, will be inducted with Danaher. Bush’s career record was 271-112-8 at PSJA North, Dimmitt, Livingston, PSJA High, Alice, Gregory-Portland, Donna and San Marcos.

Also at the induction ceremony, Smithson Valley‘s Larry Smith will be honored with the Tom Landry Award.
