After an 0-2 start, Corona Centennial continues to climb in the High School Football America California Top 25 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. The Huskies move up four spots to No. 7 after beating Utah-power Lone Peak 49-35.

The win over Lone Peak, which entered the game ranked No. 12 in the HSFA 300 national rankings, also moved Corona Centennial up in the Top 300 from No. 68 to No. 41.

This week, CC plays reigning Arizona Open Division champ Liberty on Saturday. The Lions enter the game ranked No. 1 in Arizona and No. 29 in the nation.

The Corona Centennial/Liberty game is one of three big interstate battles this weekend.

No. 1 Mater Dei closes-out its non-league schedule against St. Frances Academy (Maryland), ranked No. 13 in the nation. The Panthers (2-2) only losses have come against No. 6 Duncanville (Texas) and Orange Lutheran, ranked No. 3 in the state and No. 12 in the nation.

The third interstate game this week is between No. 4 Mission Viejo and Basha from Arizona. MV is currently ranked No. 31 in the HSFA 300. Basha is ranked No. 75 in the nation.

Inside the Top 25, No. 2 St. John Bosco plays No. 16 Pittsburg; OLu finishes its non-Trinity League schedule against No. 13 Sierra Canyon; and No. 12 Serra (Gardena) plays No. 19 Oaks Christian.

In the northern part of the state, No. 8 De La Salle will square-off with No. 23 St. Mary’s of Stockton and No. 11 Folsom faces No. 22 Rocklin.

The sixth intra-Top 25 head-to-head will be between No. 14 Los Alamitos and No. 18 Clovis North.
