Ohio’s two most legendary Ohio high school football programs – Canton McKinley and Massillon – are now searching for new head coaches.
The Canton McKinley job earlier this week when Thom McDaniels stepped-down after one year back with the program. McDaniels led the team to a 3-7 record in 2014. It was his second stint with the Bulldogs, having led the school from 1982 to 1997. McDaniels left after the team won the 1997 Division I title.
McDaniels has won over 200 games during a quarter-century of being a head coach.
At the end of the 2014 season, rival Massillon announced its head coaching job was open when Jason Hall and the school decided to part ways.
Massillon is third on America’s all-time high school football wins list with 849 victories. Canton McKinley is tied for seventh all-time with 805 wins.
