Cardinal Hayes made history Saturday when it became the first New York City school to win the New York State Catholic High School Football Championship. The Bronx school beat St. Francis from Hamburg 40-22 at Columbia University.

The Cardinals entered the game ranked No. 112 in the latest High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football.
