Cardinal Mooney wins first Florida high school football championship since the 70’s

The drought of Florida high school football titles is over for Cardinal Mooney. On Friday, Mooney beat Trinity Catholic (Ocala) 31-27 to the the Class 1S state championship, the school’s first since 1972.

Michael Valentino’s touchdown pass to Chris McCorkle with under a minute left in the game was the game-winner.
