Cedar Rapids Xavier wins 2022 Iowa Class 4A state championship

Xavier traded in last year’s silver medal for a gold one Thursday at the Uni-Dome. The Saints beat Lewis Central 45-38 to capture the Class 4A state championship.

Coleton Beasler-Weber opened the second half with a 97-yard kickoff return that gave Xavier a 24-14 lead.

The win caps a perfect 13-0 season. Xavier has now won titles in ’06, ’17 and ’18.
