Two-time defending 6A champ Center Grove began the season in an unusual position — not No. 1 in the High School Football America Indiana Top 10, powered by NFL Play Football.

After Brownsburg surprised two-time defending 5A champ Cathedral, CG is back in familiar territory. The Trojans, who have finished No. 1 in the state two years running, are back on-top of the statewide rankings after Preseason No. 1 Cathedral lost 42-35.

The loss drops Cathedral to No. 4 in the latest ranking created with our proprietary algorithm. Brownsburg moves up a spot to No. 2.

Westfield is back in the Top 10 at No. 10. The Shamrocks lost their opener to New Palestine, but bounced back last week with a 42-27 win over Lawrence Central.

Former No. 7 Lawrence North drops-out after a 24-13 loss to Whiteland.
