Central (Phenix City) moves to No. 1 after Hewitt-Trussville’s big 56-28 victory over former No. 1 Hoover. H-T moves from No. 4 to No. 2 in the new rankings that are created with our proprietary algorithm. Hoover drops to No. 3.

Defending 6A champ Pinson Valley won its third straight since losing its opener to two-time defending 7A state champ Hoover. The Indians move flip-flop positions with former No. 5 Clay-Chalkville after a 28-21 victory.

This week, Pinson Valley will face No. 10 Oxford.
