Today’s Championship Chat is with DeSoto High School (Texas) head coach Claude Mathis. Last season, the Eagles won their second straight Texas 6A Division II championship, finishing No. 8 in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football.

Below, Mathis talks with Jeff Fisher about the championships, winning the Texas High School Coaches Association Coach of the Year Award and his thoughts about going for a three-peat.
