Since the early 1980’s Northern California’s Truckee High School has been playing for Nevada high school football championships. The community is on the California/Nevada border, about 30 miles from Reno, Nevada.

Truckee heads into 2024 with a 22-game win streak and as the two-time reigning 3A champs. Last year’s title with the 14th overall for the school near Lake Tahoe. That gives the school the fifth most in Nevada high school football history.

On this edition of the High School Football America Podcast’s Championship Chat, head coach Josh Ivens talks about his program’s incredible run, the history behind playing in Nevada and last week’s visit by a black bear to its practice that led to some national publicity.
