Champlain Valley Union is celebrating its second Vermont Division I high school football championship in the last three years. The Redhawks, No. 1 in the High School Football America Vermont Top 5, powered by NFL Play Football, beat No. 2 Rutland 41-14 Saturday at St. Johnsbury Academy’s Fairbanks Field.

Orion Yates tossed three touchdown passes in the win.

It was only the second time this year, the CVU allowed two touchdowns in the game. They end the season having allowed only 62 total points.

CVU finishes a perfect 11-0. Rutland closes-out 2024 with a 9-2 record.
