Chatfield beats Erie for Colorado 4A high school football championship

Saturday at Empower Field at Mile High, home of the Denver Broncos, Chatfield beat Erie 41-34 for the Colorado 4A high school football championship. It is Chatfield’s first football title since 2011.

With time running out in regulation, and the game tied at 34-34, Chatfield sophomore quarterback Jake Jones hooked-up with sophomore tight end Drew Rohlman on a 32-yard touchdown with :11 seconds remaining.

Chatfield finishes 11-3. Erie, which lost its first game of the year, ends 2021 13-1.
