High school football in Illinois won’t start until February 15, 2021, but the National Football League‘s Chicago Bears are unveiling a new program that will honor high school football players who make a positive impact in their community and school.
The Bears are partnering with Athletico Physical Therapy to honor student-athletes with the Chicago Bears Community High School All-Star Award. It salutes student-athletes who exemplify service, leadership, and character. The Chicago Bears Community High School All-Star takes the lessons learned through playing the sport of football and using them to benefit their community.
The Bears will honor nine high school football players from November through January. Each winner will receiver a personalized, hand painted football, gift bag, and a special message from a Bears guest. The Bears will also make a $500 donation to the charitable organization of the player’s choosing.
The 2020 Illinois high school football season has been moved to 2021 with practice beginning February 15. The seven game regular season will begin March 5.
