The Chicago Bears proudly announce Abbie Lewis, a student-athlete from Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, Ill., as the inaugural recipient of the Community High School All-Star award for the 2024 season. The Community High School All-Star award, brought to you by Athletic Physical Therapy, recognizes nine total high school football players from March through May who are making a positive impact in their community and at their school.

Abbie was nominated for this award by her girls’ flag football coach, Sarah Gutierrez, for exemplifying exceptional character and strong dedication to both her team and school. She is a multi-sport athlete, participating in both girl’s flag football and softball, while maintaining a 4.3 weighted GPA. Recognized by her peers for her integrity, responsibility and leadership, Abbie inspires others to strive for excellence while doing things the right way.

Beyond athletics and academics, Abbie dedicates time to serving her school. She plays an important role in organizing and leading activities as a director for Stevenson’s Operation Snowball, a student-led retreat fostering personal growth and leadership development. Through the program, Abbie helps students build social connections, overcome personal challenges and develop crucial leadership skills.

Looking into the future, Abbie will be continuing her academic and athletic journey at Lake Forest College this upcoming fall, where she plans to play softball for the Foresters. Abbie is eager not only to compete and learn but also make positive change. She plans to advocate for the introduction of flag football to Lake Forest College’s athletic department, further enriching the sports offerings and promoting inclusivity within the campus community. Abbie’s perseverance, kindness and dedication shine through in all aspects of her life, demonstrating her commitment to making a difference both on and off the field.

Each Community High School All-Star award recipient will receive a custom hand-painted football, gift bag and an invitation to a future Chicago Bears event. Additionally, the Chicago Bears will make a $500 donation to the charitable organization of the player’s choosing.
