The Chicago Bears are proud to announce Olivia Hansen, a senior at United Township High School in East Moline, Illinois, as the fifth recipient of the Community High School All-Star award for the 2023 season. The Community High School All-Star award, brought to you by Athletico Physical Therapy, will recognize nine total high school football players from March through May who are making a positive impact in their community and at their school.

Olivia is a student-athlete who has made a great impact in her community. She has dedicated her time to volunteering at Mallard Point Kennels, where she helps with animal care. In addition, Olivia has completed numerous hours of community service as a member of the football program and the National Honors Society. She is also a member of the Spanish National Honor Society and participates in the school’s Link Crew Program, through which she helps incoming freshmen transition into high school.

Despite her busy schedule in the community, Olivia also excels academically and athletically at United Township High School.  She is the captain of the volleyball team, played goalkeeper for the girls’ soccer team, and has also joined the boys’ football program this year as a kicker and holder. Olivia takes accelerated honors, dual credit AP courses, and has already earned 15 college credits before graduation. She has been on the honor roll every semester of high school, was part of the 2021-2022 Fellowship of Christian Athletes Leadership Team, and is chosen to be the valedictorian of her 2023 class this Spring.

Olivia’s football coach, Nick Welch, stated, “Our program emphasizes investing your time by serving your community, and Olivia fulfills that value by volunteering frequently. She deserves recognition for balancing school, athletics, and work while holding herself to a high standard. United Township is excited and proud to see Olivia receive this well-deserved award.”
