Chicago’s Mt. Carmel ties record for most Illinois high school football championships

The Mt. Carmel Caravan is celebrating its second straight Illinois 7A high school football championship and a record-typing 15th overall. Saturday, the Chicago private school beat Downers Grove North 35-10 to tie Joliet Catholic for the most high school football state titles all-time in the Land of Lincoln.

The Caravan entered the game ranked No. 37 in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football.
