The CIF-Southern Section Pac-5 Division is one of the toughest championships to win in America.  With only 16 spots, it’s one of the country’s  toughest high school football playoff tickets.

As we head into the final week of the regular season, we take look at who’s already in and who must win this weekend.

Fourteen of the spots go to the top three teams in the Big VIII, Mission, Moore and Trinity leagues and the top two teams in the Marmonte League.  There are two at-large berths available.

As we reported on Tuesday, St. John Bosco, ranked #3 in the High School Football America Top 25, has already punched its ticket to the postseason, but the other two spots in the Trinity League are up-for-grabs with the possibility of a five-way tie for second place on the horizon.

In the Mission League, Serra is already in.  Bishop Amat and Loyola square-off Friday night with the winner qualifying for the second season.  If Serra beats Chaminade, the Amat/Loyola loser is in.

Friday night, nationally-ranked Corona Centennial, #4 in the High School Football America National Top 25, and Norco will settle the top-seed in the Big VIII.  If Corona Santiago beats Roosevelt Friday, the Sharks are into the Pac-5 field.

Oaks Christian can wrap-up the Marmonte League’s top seed with a win over rival Westlake.  The league’s other berth would then go to St. Bonaventure, if the Seraphs beat Moorpark.  If Westlake beats the Lions and St. Bonaventure wins, there would be a three-way tie for the title.

And in the Moore League, Long Beach Poly is already in as the top-seed from the league. Barring an upset against Long Beach Cabrillo, Long Beach Wilson will be the league’s second seed.  The third and final playoff spot will go to the winner of Lakewood and Long Beach Jordan.
