Cleveland High is the No. 1 team in the first in-season High School Football America New Mexico Top 5 for the Fall 2021 season. The Storm finished No. 1 in the spring season with a perfect 4-0 regular season record. There weren’t any playoffs in the spring.
The 2019 6A champs opened the season Saturday with a 49-21 win over Centennial. The ’19 title was the third overall state football championship for Cleveland, which also won titles in 2011 and 2015.
No. 2 Rio Rancho opens the regular season Friday against No. 5 La Cueva.
