Colquitt County guaranteed itself a spot in the High School Football America Top 10 when the final rankings are released next Sunday. The Packers, who finished #8 in the our regular season Top 25 rankings, did so by beating Archer 28-24 Saturday night to win the Georgia AAAAAA title.
The Packers were led by junior quarterback Chase Parrish, who threw three touchdown passes. Senior running back Sihiem King rushed for 125 yards scoring one touchdown. King also caught a touchdown pass from Parrish.
Colquitt County finished 15-0.
The championship is the first for Packer head coach Rush Propst, who won five in Alabama when he was the head coach at Hoover.
Below, you can listen to an interview early this year that I did with Propst on the High School Football America radio show.
