Columbine snaps Cherry Creek’s run of four straight Colorado 5A high school football championship

Cherry Creek’s state championship run is over. Saturday, at Canvas Stadium at Colorado State University, Columbine beat the four-time defending 5A champs 28-14 for the 2023 state title.

Columbine senior Josh Snyder scored three touchdowns to take down the Bruins, who entered the game ranked No. 1 in the state and No. 95 in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. The Rebels entered the game No. 2 in the state and just outside of our national rankings.
