Fans who attend the August 19 scrimmage between Herbert Hoover High and John Marshall will have the chance to see country music star Brad Paisley. While Paisley, a John Marshall grad, won’t be performing, he will be in attendance as Herbert Hoover christens its new football stadium.

The school made the announcement on its Facebook page.

Herbert Hoover High School and its campus was severely damaged during a 2016 flood. Paisley toured the damage shortly after the Elk River flood.

Since the flood, students have been attending classes in modular classrooms. And, like the football stadium, the community will celebrate the opening of the new high school in the fall.
